New York 2016

We loved New York so much in 2014 that we came over again in 2016.  Was very cold on this trip - Hamish needed his scarf!  Mr Strong flew with Mummy as usual - he likes some champagne with his Economist...

First stop was checking into Morgans Hotel.

Then our first outing was to walk (or waddle in Hamish's case)  (or strut in Mr Strong's case) along the High Line.

Yes, it was cold.

We found some fire hydrants that looked quite frozen too, and waddled/strutted past Madison Square Garden...

Then we headed downtown first to get some looseleaf green and white tea at this brilliant shop:

Then we waddled/strutted along to see the flat where Blondie were living whilst recording Parallel Lines (Hamish is a bit of a music history buff).

Since we were down there anyway, we had to go to the Schott shop for Daddy.  Mummy and Hamish don't like shopping much, but we make an exception in New York.  Yes, Daddy ended up buying this jacket.

Then Mummy called an Uber and we headed back to the hotel for a rest.

On our last day we took a day trip up to Cold Spring.  We caught a train from Grand Central.

And arrived late morning to a slightly bleak but very pretty town.

Very nice architecture and small local shops, and we enjoyed waddling/strutting around and window shopping - check out the size of that digger!

Then it was down to Cold Spring Depot for some lunch.  Everything was decorated for St Patricks Day already.

Then back on the train to the city, and flying back home again.

Of course Mummy needed to come back for work again a few weeks later, and just Mr Strong got to come along - hmph!
